Instructions

  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, cream butter with granulated and brown sugars until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes).
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until just combined; avoid overmixing.
  6. In a small bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon for rolling. Roll dough into balls and coat in the mixture before placing on baking sheets spaced two inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are golden but centers remain soft. Let cool slightly before transferring to wire racks.
