  • 1 lb ground beef (or turkey/chicken)
  • 1 cup uncooked white rice
  • 28 oz can of tomato sauce
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup water or broth
  • Olive oil for sautéing

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté onion until translucent, then add minced garlic.
  2. Increase heat slightly and add ground meat. Cook until browned.
  3. Stir in uncooked rice, tomato sauce, spices, and water or broth. Mix well.
  4. Fold in chopped cabbage until coated with sauce; cover and simmer on low heat for about 20 minutes.
  5. Once the rice is cooked through and the cabbage is tender, remove from heat and serve hot.
