  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 cup green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 cup red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)
  • 8 oz egg noodles or pasta of choice
  • 1½ cups provolone cheese, shredded
  • 1½ cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for sautéing

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté the onions and bell peppers until softened (about 5 minutes). If using mushrooms, add them at this stage.
  3. Increase heat to medium-high and add the ground beef. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning; cook until browned.
  4. Meanwhile, boil water in a separate pot and cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain well.
  5. Remove the skillet from heat and stir in half of both provolone and mozzarella cheeses until combined.
  6. Transfer the meat mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Top with remaining provolone and mozzarella cheeses. Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
