- 12 large cabbage leaves (from one head)
- 1 (14 oz) can tinned tomatoes
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 1 tbsp sugar
Instructions
- Blanch cabbage leaves in boiling water for about 2 minutes until softened. Remove and cool.
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, cooked rice, onion, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly.
- Lay a cabbage leaf flat and place two tablespoons of filling at the base. Roll tightly while tucking in the sides.
- In a saucepan, heat tomato sauce with sugar until well mixed.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread some sauce in a baking dish; arrange rolls seam-side down and cover with remaining sauce.
- Cover with foil and bake for about 45 minutes or until beef is fully cooked.
