10 cups dried bread cubes (sourdough or white)
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 medium onion, finely diced
2 stalks celery, finely diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon fresh sage, chopped
1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped
1.5 to 2 cups chicken broth
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
Sauté onion and celery until translucent and soft.
Stir in minced garlic, sage, thyme, and rosemary; cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
In a large bowl, combine bread cubes with the sautéed butter and herb mixture, tossing to coat.
Gradually stir in chicken broth, salt, and pepper until the bread is moist but not soggy.
Grease a slow cooker and transfer the stuffing inside, pressing down gently.
Cover and cook on Low for 3-4 hours or High for 1.5-2 hours.
