A creamy, smoky twist on the Philly classic. Tender slow-cooked chicken with peppers and onions, topped with a zesty chipotle cream cheese drizzle.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 green bell peppers, sliced
  • 1 large yellow onion, sliced
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 6 provolone cheese slices
  • 6 hoagie rolls
  • 4 oz softened cream cheese
  • 2 tbsp chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, minced
  • 1 tsp lime juice

Instructions

  1. Place sliced onions and peppers in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. Season chicken breasts with garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper, then place on top of vegetables.
  3. Cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or HIGH for 4 hours.
  4. Shred the chicken using two forks directly in the pot.
  5. Mix softened cream cheese, minced chipotle peppers, and lime juice until smooth.
  6. Toast hoagie rolls and fill with the chicken mixture.
  7. Top with provolone and broil until cheese is melted.
  8. Drizzle with the chipotle cream cheese sauce and serve immediately.
